The results are based on August 2010 sales, which have historically indicated fall trends. This year the top sellers are black, cranberry, natural, light grey, silver grey, dark chocolate, champagne and gold.
These colors coincide with recent bridal fashion forecasts stating black and deep reds are popular color themes for weddings. More brides are opting for less traditional colors and may instead wear a black or red dress or use these colors as accents in piping and sashes, among other event elements such as invitations, cakes and bridesmaid dresses.
“Pashminas are such a functional and stylish way to add pops of color within your bridal party and build upon your wedding color theme,” said Blair Rhodes, co-owner of The Pashmina Store. “Black has become our most popular with brides this season – it’s a color that can be worn again and again after the big day. Cranberry has always been a classic and popular fall color and this season is no exception.”
Blair also notes an uptick in the quantity of pashminas purchased this year, “Brides are giving more pashminas as gifts, not just to their bridesmaids, but in contrasting colors for their mothers and mother in laws. They’re even ordering our smaller pashminas for their flower girls.”

Brides were extremely responsive to Bill Levkoff’s spring 2010 collection.
