The Gilded Paw ‘Unveils’ Latest Wedding Dress for Your Dog

The Gilded Paw ‘Unveils’ Latest Wedding Dress for Your Dog

Reading, PA (PRWEB) September 5, 2006

On August 19th and 20th the New York Pet Fashion week was finally unleashed. The show received international media coverage from top publications such as The Washington Times, The New York Post, United Press International-Newstrack, China Daily and possible video coverage on Animal Planet and Vh1.

There were many beautiful and extravagant items shown throughout the show, but few were as exquisite as the $ 5,500.00 hand-made dog wedding gown by Emma Rose Designs. The dog dress was bought by a Pennsylvania based upscale pet clothing and bridal boutique shop online, The Gilded Paw. The president of the company, Kristine Moyer, automatically fell in love with the detail and outstanding quality of the handmade pieces when she first met the owner of Emma Rose Designs, Carol Blanchette. Soon after that, Kristine and Carol became not only business associates but friends. When asked about buying the lavish dog wedding dress that was showcased in the Fashion Show, Kristine had only one response. “We wanted to buy this designer dog dress for those unable to attend the event. We believe a dress like this should be able to be seen by the world and to understand that pet fashion is not just a passing trend.“

Emma Rose Designs is generally higher quality not only in their structure but also in the fabric and embellishments that go into their hand-made pieces. The dog dress shown in the fashion show was no exception with its bodice consisting of over one thousand hand-beaded Swarovski beads and clear cup sequins. The dress was all hand done by Carol and took her a couple of months to finish. The fabric used on the bodice is a Peau de Soie, while the fabric for the luxurious ten foot, five layered train is made out of tulle and has embellishments of rose appliqués with pearls and sequins. When asked about her inspiration for the dress Carol Blanchette responded that she was “sitting by (her) flower garden (when she) watched the roses and thought of romance and simpler days where everything seemed beautiful.” To add a finishing touch to this already exquisite dog dress the veil is a “bridal illusion” with white satin cording and Swarovski beading and sequins.

Gwendolyn Osborne, a Barker beauty on the Price is Right, wed former NBA Star Kenny “the Jet” Smith

Gwendolyn Osborne, a Barker beauty on the Price is Right, wed former NBA Star Kenny “the Jet” Smith

LOS ANGELES,CA (PRWEB) September 8, 2006

Two-time NBA Champion and TNT sports analyst Kenny “the Jet” Smith wed Barker beauty, Gwendolyn Osborne September 2, 2006, at their mountain-top estate in Stevenson Ranch, CA.

The bride, 28, walked down the aisle in an original couture pale blue bridal gown created by Canadian designer Ines Di Santo. The groom, 41, wore a tuxedo by Atlanta-based master tailor/designer Joseph Addo.

The newlyweds exchanged custom-made wedding bands by celebrity jeweler Chris Aire, who also designed Osborne’s five-carat, diamond-and-red gold engagement ring. The bridesmaid’s custom chandelier earrings were designed by Renee Pawele of Renee Pawele Bride. A gifted singer, Osborne serenaded her groom with a rendition of India.Arie’s “Truth” as she walked down the aisle.

Surrounded by 250 of their closest friends and family, including NBA greats Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Kenny Anderson and Marc Jackson, the couple shared their love in a garden ceremony elegantly designed by Catering by Ashley, the California-based event planning company helmed by Executive Chef Bill Blackburn. To symbolize the spirit and freedom of their covenant, a flurry of monarch butterflies were released into the sky.

Mixing the sounds of Smith’s native New York with Osborne’s West Indian roots, the couple, who met at a charity event in 2004, danced into the night to music provided by the world-famous DJ Nice and an authentic steel pan band. During the couple’s first dance, guests were treated to an impromptu fireworks display compliments of Six Flag’s Magic Mountain.

Blending two children from Smith’s first marriage and one from Osborne, the Smiths will reside in Stevenson Ranch, California. Smith will continue to commute to Atlanta during the NBA season where he tapes the Emmy award-winning Inside the NBA with colleagues Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson.

Two-time NBA champion Smith is in his eighth full season as an NBA studio analyst for TNT’s Inside the NBA. In 2005, Smith, with support from the NBA and TNT, organized and hosted the NBA Players Hurricane Relief Game raising over $ 1 million for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Osborne’s TV/film credits include The Price is Right, Huff, Eve, Snow Dogs, Any Given Sunday and the Swedish soap, Ocean Ave.
